Lake Eyre, Nov 2010

Images of Lake Eyre  mid November 2010, our flight was from nearby William Creek.
The cost per person for 1 hour flight (ample time) was $230.00 and seeing the Lake in flood I considered it well worth the money. Pilot commentary was excellent, however the sound effects of the pilots front seat passenger vomiting non stop for the flight was .............distracting. The poor bloke saw nothing but a sickness bag all the way out and back. As we approached "wheels down" he gave such a might heave that the pilot actually bounced the aircraft 3 times before touchdown.....(true story)

It was very turbulent at the time, (midday) and anyone prone to motion sickness would need to consider this or take the morning flight with calmer conditions.

We loved every minute of our time in the outback, the scenary is stunning and the people who opened up this country were and still are amazing.

Wow beautiful photos, thankyou. smile

We did the same last July over the Birdsville Track. We wanted to do Lake Eyre but the water and time restraints put a stop to that.

It was magnificant and as you say, worth the money.
