after 3 months finally got the van out of the yard after all the rain.even though we only got away for a week it was so refreshing to be on the road.the roads west of townsville as far as richmond are in good condition but a lot of water laying in the paddocks.look ing forward to 3 months in W.A. from mid july.should be nice and dry by then

I love Richmond. The road between Hughenden and Richmond is sealed but very up and down, and up and down, and ... oh you get the idea.
It was also raining when I came across there in early November.
I stayed in the Richmond van park for a few nights, and one in the hospital, and the people at the park were absolutely wonderful. They're also nomads and know the "rules".
It's great country. It should be drier when you head west. The wet season has been particularly wet, even here in SA.
Safe and happy travels.

We have stayed behind the pub at prairie. $10 pn powered from memory.

Also camped at Moorrinya National Park about 70K's south of Praire, good dirt road in. Hot showers via a donkey boiler, toilets
