The RFDS does such a wonderful job. It really deserves financial support from all of those who travel. Many people don't realize that it does more than just emergency rescue, but also things like regular fly-in medical "clinics" in remote places.

Good to see all went well, saw the place yesterday as we went by. heading east. Its jackjummper ants that dont work with a pen, if you have a reaction from them . safe travels... Bob n Bev. dont think I would like to be sitting looking out with some one driving, no names..........!!!!!

I hate to disillusion you boys and girls, the nymph is a lot older now and gravity has taken its toll.
She was a real person from Ceduna, playing a funny prank on the Nullarbor, while her husband/boyfriend was building the dog fence or something out there.
She'd probably be arrested these days for indecent exposure and offending "traditional owner" culture or something.
It was a great time in outback travelling history.

They sure do great things, it was one of those clinic's that the policeman took us too, only about half a klm behind his station at Yalata.

Do you mean the EpiPen does not work with the Jackjumper ants? the EpiPen contains adrenalin so that should work once it's in your system (I would have thought)

The only reason I travel the Nulla is to see the nymph, you r right about the history, I am surprised at the number of people who travel the nulla and then say there is nothing to see, I think they travel tooooo fast, slow down and smell the roses so to speak, stop and have a good look around.

I really gets up my nose when I hear people say the Nulla if boring.

They look but obviously don't see.

I find something different every kilometer.

Admittedly I haven't been across for about 10 years but am really looking forward to the trip next year. Blue has never been across so it will be an experience for him.

I've lived at Ceduna, and until 2006 I'd never been west of Fowlers Bay. I've body surfed near Cactus, and I've been north of the dog fence, and never found any of it boring. Clare Bay is magic.
I've been across twice now and found, like everywhere else I've travelled, it's different, not as flat as you'd think, the vegetation is salt bush, blue bush and mallee, just across the Head Of The Bight where the whales play (and breed). If you're into caving there are some unique caves out there.
What's boring? As the song says, "Everything is beautiful, in it's own way."
Put the book down, stay awake and soak it all in as the country slides by.

Put the book down CG. So right. I could never understand someone on a train journey with their head in a book, So much to see out the window. OK, I can understand on a plane once up in the air but train or car trip, beautiful scenery all the way.

Imagine this - Comfortable tug pulling comfortable caravan with all mod cons and glamorous decor . All the accessories necessary, (and some that are not). Country sliding by at 90KPH, a small breeze to help you along, sun shining, wildlife grazing, and the companion in the passenger seat sitting silent with their head in a book, or worse, snoring.
Mmmm, not much companionship there.
Stay home! If you don't get this travel thing, while sitting in the comfortable vehicle under sufferance, do the enthusiastic traveller a favour and stay home!
The UHF radio muttering away would be more company than you. The finger lifting truck driver and fellow traveller sharing the highway would be more company than you.
Unless he/she really needs you along to cook, wash and keep the van clean, while you keep the car clean, you're not doing anyone any favours being there.
I couldn't imagine anything worse than to share these travel experiences with someone who wasn't the least bit interested in learning about what's over the next hill or around the next bend. No one to SHARE it with. What a waste!
Right now, doing it alone seems the preferred option.
