I noticed that they is a site called Auction Holidays with some decent bargains...Wish that a few Caravan Parks would fight harder too get us too stay over a little longer...I;m mainly talking about the East coast of Aussie...Though I guess that will never happen

On TV here.....in SA they have Auction Holidays....they say where .how much...how long..you have like 30 mins to put a bid in...first 50 bidders..I usually devide by 2 + 10....most have 12 months to take it if your bid is accepted.
Jimbo, I dont hate my self that much that I would want to go up the EAST coast, shudder.. And over Easter, real kumakuzy stuff. Ok If you havent been there......... And the fuel price will jump as it all ways dose, and funny they found GOLD in vict, again just before a big holiday.. Makes you smile, seems to happen each year around this time....Is it me or what......?

Here in Melbourne during the Channel 10 nightly (5pm) news there is often adds for Auction Holiday (?). Top 50 bids win as per Smokeydk post.
Twice in recent times there have been auctions for stays on powered sites, usually they are for Cabin stays which is what got our attention.
They were for ten nights, which could be used as 2x5 nights, with 12 months to use and the advertised value was $250. No mention of restrictions regarding time of year but would imagine that there would be, particularly around Christmas and Easter.
One was at Lakes Entrance and the other at Echuca, though cannot recall the names of the parks.
Edit: Travel Auctions, thats the one , thanks Pam.

South West Rocks is a lovely place.
Spent some time in the National Park, just near the lighthouse many years ago. Fabulous spot in the rainforest with wood supplied for the BBQ, but you had to fight the Kookaburras for your meat.
$20 per night is a great offer for that area, probably cheaper than the National Park plus the ammenities, though as we now travel with a dog like ChiChi, Big 4 Parks are off our list.
Tell me if you're pet friendly...Please Will be on our way if Yes for a couple of weeks...My wife is warming up to the idea Leanne..So put a smile on her Face ...

As you may have heard BIG4 is changing their no dog policy where individual parks can choose whether they are pet friendly or not.
We have chosen that we will be pet friendly during the period 1 May - 1 September each year which is when our grey nomad market are travelling (outside of the school holiday periods).
The $20 offer is for the Grey Nomad forum only so if you would like to take it up just email me at leanne@trialbay.com.au and I will send you the voucher and the booking details so you can book with reception.
You will need the voucher to show to get the $20 deal.
www.travelauctions.com.au is the website and they are getting more caravan sites to auction after many emails from me
I have won?? a few and going to port hughes soon
Some of the parks are out of town a bit but look at the sites and make up your own mind. At least the price you pay is only about half and as we go out of peak periods that is all we should pay
I anticipate setting off from the Gold Coast for a round Australia trip either late July or early August and intend to make your park my first long term stay.
I will email you for the voucher and booking form but the actual booking will have to wait until closer to my set off time.
Look forward to spending at least a couple of weeks at your park.
