Was shocked to see what fuel cost up in sunny state.. Fill up here at $1.44 per litre most was $1.48 but seen it up to$1.55 ..was $1.75 at Belyando I didnt buy any there pull up had lunch but seen plenty who were fueling up ... must be hard for all you people out there trying to travel on a pension ....

Its $1.73 on Magnetic is, and hasn,t gone down at any time.The reason, we have been told , is they don,t sell enough to give us the discount price.If you do a calculation based on the current Us -oz dollar rate , They are paying 85c a litre, Half what we pay, and still whinging.My mate, who uses a lot of fuel, has kept a diary of prices, and we are paying more than when oil was $145 a barrel. It doesn,t work out!

I'd probably get it cheaper if I went to the western side of the highway, in the 'lower socio-economic area', (I think that's the nice way of putting it) but it's not really a saving if I have to go extra distance to get it cheaper.
And why is it that it's more exxy in the 'better' suburbs?! It stinks!
I actually found the smaller town had the cheapest fuel some servo on main highways were most of time the most expensive ... ....so i tender to fill up when fuel when i found these little servo and it suppose the smaller towns as well ...

For some unexplicable reason diesel here in Adelaide has just dived down to $1.45 or there-abouts. It was up to $1.56 a week ago. On the job the most I paid for diesel was in Qld - $1.69 out in the stick somewhere. It varies from company to company. For a change, for the first time in 3 months, diesel also cheaper than unleaded petrol. As diesel is cheaper to produce then unleaded fuel, I can't ever understand why it's dearer, well, until now. When I arrived in Cairns in 08 diesel was $1.80/litre, so we're still better off than then. But like we are told, the good old U S of A whinges about paying 85c/litre. So how do we "whinge" big enough and loud enough to be heard by the fuel companies so that we get a fair deal? It will never happen. We keep using the stuff.

Yes, & to think that the only company that has the technology to turn coal into diesel fuel (Linc) has been shut down in Kingaroy Qld. How much coal do we have in Aust? well I have it on good authority that coal can be found from Millmeran in south-eastern Qld right up through western Qld to Charters Towers, so the question is, why aren't we self sufficient in this so called "lucky country"? We are exporting LNG from CSG (coal seam gas) overseas for next to nothing, so why isn't this resource being used for motor vehicle fuel also? Seems the big oil companies have everyone hood-winked, or are our politicians just too gutless to do anything about it??
Paid $1.52 for Diesel at Choice in Rocky yesterday. The day before, on the way home, it was 7.9 cents a litre dearer at Marlborough, about an hour North up the Highway.
It's getting too ridiculous.

It the same here jules fuel go up on thursday it a rip off... tamworth is suppose to have most expencive fuel in n.s.w. but nothing on sunny q.l.d......think it $1.48 here at present

Hi all. If you think Qld is expensive, come out here in NT. Many places on the Stuart Hwy range between $1.88 to $2.20+. A lot of GN understand that they expect a bit of a mark up, but the prices out here is blantant exploitation. Particularly where you do not have an option. A number of travellers are avoiding popular out of the way sites like Eyres Rock or Kings Canyon because of the of the fuel cost. If these places continue to bleed the average traveller they will cut the head off the goose who lays the golden egg if they are not careful.
Why would any goverment of the day be interested in reducing fuel prices? High fuel price means more money due to the huge amount of tax on fuel. & going green isnt realy on there agenda as they are slowly ramping up tax on LPG which is suposed to be enviromentaly freindly. Its all about goverment coffers.

As with cigarettes too DeBe. If they were really serious about helping people get off the damn things, they'd compensate the cost of Nicabate and the like. But no, they make too much money on the tax from them.
