I'm sitting on the banks of the Narrabri River.

and stayuing her overnight. Have gone as far as I'm willing to push Myrtle in one day and didn't want to get caught in the pilliga.

Ran out of gas in bottle overnight so not even a cuppa this morning till I got to maccas in Moree.

Waiting for Monday, for petrol, gas and to move on. Sitting here enjoying the cool under a tree. The lady in the Info Centre has filled up my thermos and also given me a spare full which I have to return in the morning.

She said technically can't park here overnight but later when the cars all move from behind there in the parking area, move up there and park in the car park behind the info centre. They won't move me on from there, and I need to return their thermos in the morning.

Have to conseerve power on here so might not be on for a couple of days.

So looking forward to getting home and getting all these things fixed on Myrtle.

Definitely Ken, will call you.
Have now moved to the Narrabri Showgrounds. Was a bit worried I might get moved on from the info centre if security came driving around. The lovely man caretaker here only charged me 5.00 for a powered site. I'm parked between the horse stalls with some other campers. I don't mind as grew up on a farm.
Its lovely here, have patted the ponies and gone for a walk around. The showers and toilets are basic but at least there is some. He said to stay as long as I like . But I need to get home by end of week as I am now going down to Geelong the next week to house/office/dog sit for my sister while they are in Singapore at a wedding.
Will be there two weeks but not taking Myrtle, taking the train to use up my free tickets before they expire. When they get back I will go up to melb with them to their unit in Docklands for the weekend before catching the train back home to Echuca. Will probably do the Vicky market etc, haven't been there for years.
So I will be down there over my birthday as well.

I love it too Jules, there's something about it. The atmosphere is so good. Have been trying to get back there for years so when sister suggested staying that bit longer I jumped at the chance. Will catch the train home on the Monday.

Oh yes a bit of a come uppance, Have stayed there before, first block in with the blue glass windows diagonally opposite Etihad Stadium.

I know the place - I quite like Docklands, and the free City Cirle Tram - I think you can catch it almost to the market Marj.

HW,
do you have enough storage room to be able to carry a spare gas bottle in Myrtle? We have two bottles for the van and it really takes out the guesswork/unpleasant surprise aspect from trying to manage with only one bottle.

HW, try the little portable gas things, with the butane cylinder that we were talking about on the forum a week or two ago. They should be about 14 dollars and 4 cylinder are about 10 dollars. We wouldn't be without one, and a cuppa in no time, anywhere.

HW take it easy on the way home and enjoy the sunshine while you can. A little damp here in Melbourne but not too cold ... but then again I'm a Melbourne girl - its been sunny here until today.

Good to read all is well Marj...other than running out of gas. I did that in Morven Q and had a fabulous brekky in the Roadhouse there. I'd heard it was a favourite of the truckies, so knew it'd be good.

I've also stayed in showgrounds..in Barcaldine..and found them cheap and cheerful.

Thanks DellieMay for the idea of having the butane stove as a backup. I'll be getting one of those too.

I'm on Nana duty for 2 weeks with my grandson. Daughter and s-i-l are off to Thailand. Their place is about 40 minutes from mine, so I can slip back here every couple of days to check mail etc.

Happy travels Marj.
