.. in the Gulf-Land .. NQ

Well .. I thought I'd just be here at Normanton for 2 days at the max .. but will stay for a full week now ..

Its quaint little Caravan Park .. lotsa space .. fair pricing .. hot showers and toilet .. washing machine .. swimming pool and a great pervading attitude !

One can get most things needed for food and hygiene .. Hey Jules. even lawn Bowls which I still gotta check out !

Got out my trusty Piaggio Scooter yesterday and took off for Karumba .. just a mere 70 k's down a good sealed road .. oh .. and 70 k's back again too .. Arrived back here and enjoyed fresh King Salmon last night as a reward for the day trip ..

.. jus' gonna 'vegie' out now .. nighty-nites !

   hmmmmmmm    ..     Jon

Its beautiful country up there Jon. We are heading that way again in July hopefully.

We stayed a couple of nights at Karumba but that was an average park, very crowded.

We want to vist Leichardt Falls again and maybe Lawn Hill.

Glad to see you are still enjoying every breath you take mate. x o.

Hi Linda ..

It may not seem to be so, but I am starting to slow down a little .. I know from other travellers that the CP's at Karumba are pretty much booked out .. people are stopping here til their number (booking) comes up then they head off there .. and I could see alot of campers out there in all sorts of travel mode ..

very popular ..

Jon

Hey Jon - staying a week you will have time to check the greens out I reckon. Isn't Normanton an amazing place - more there than you think -love the railway station - we wanted to take a trip on the little train, but didn't have time then. We didn't stay in Normanton, but went on to Karumba, camped at the Sunset CP - pretty crowded, but was at the end of the season almost, so we didn't have a problem getting in. Husband caught fish off the beach near boat ramp - delicious.
Been to Normanton twice now, liked it both times. You are sure getting around Jon - keep us posted mate.
Happy travels.

Hi there Pauline and Ian ..

Thats prob the least of my worries .. not really an active user of pubs .. don't mind a drop but do prefer it in selected comany.

then again .. I never drank xxxx before either .. hehe !

I know yu guys have a heavy schedule (living in FNQ) but will also get in touch again once I've stopped at Mareeba .. just a hop-step-jump from your place and I hope to be in the area for 8-10 weeks .. maybe longer.

My son & his wife (married last year at Palm Cove) are tripping back for their first anniversary this year .. inquired if I wanna party too .. will see !

thanks for dropping a line ..

Jon
