Thats exactly the same deal that I got Esmeralda. I'm sure you can't get any better than that. I was very pleased.
I too am very pleased, especially as on my previous plan I only got $40 of calls!! I really noticed the extra charges when I was having the leg problems on my Canberra trip.

The only viable provider for travellers is Telstra - via the Next G network. Their coverage is just so superior to any other carrier. Our actual phone is the Telstra one - Z, I think. We have had that since 2007, when it replaced the old CDMA phone and service. I seem to remember that the phone came free when we signed up to a contract for a year. We have a plan - bundled with home phone and internet - that gives us a "free" hour to make calls, up to 20 minutes duration each, every day - for $30 a month. The charges for calls outside that time do not seem to be too much per minute.
I agree about Toolstra being the best option for those who plan on travel outback and well away from the major highways and towns.
I changed back to Toolstra a while back after being with Ooptus, have home phone, adsl and mobile and wireless net all up it costs me $89 a mth for my net at 50 Gb for home adsl (I never go near this amount) and 7Gb on the wireless which when away i do use because uploading pics etc... and $49 mth for the mobile giving me $400 odd worth of calls and 1.5Gb of net on it as well.
I have the T90 (ZTec) country phone (blue tick) which is dust and water proof to some extent and has a great speaker for handsfree, can actually hear it while driving which is a nice change, also has the plug for an external antena and is set up to use as a modem also.
It also has a reasonable camera for a cheap mobile see....
Hoo Roo Happy Days
