The handle is a manouvering handle, make it easier to push it around and lift if needed... also protect the hydraulic cylinder for the overide brake system.
It will most likely be finished by the time I get back in there, so the next pics will prob be fittout pics...
Just for the record total build cost is $3850, this is $2k less than the average ready built Chinese equivalent and a he11 of a lot better built with stronger welds and running gear.
My fitout will prob be around the $200 - $300 mark.

Looks like a substantial piece of kit. Any idea of the finished weight yet.
I used to build, Trailers, horse floats etc years ago. Pictures took me back 25 years. Always toyed with building a camper but never got around to it. I dont have the room now anyway.
The guy building it did say around the 350 to 400kg mark.... but is going to be rated to 3500kg I believe but that will all be revealed once the rego is done...
Cheers

Thanks Grumpy, the handle is a good idea, I did notice a bit of angle iron welded onto the draw bar for extra strenght, so don't think it's going to fall apart in a hurry, lol !
Look forward to the next lot of pics',

Any reason going hydraulic rather than electric braking. Built one years back and included 25x25 around the chassis to run all the under rig wiring to prevent stone damage.
Looks real solid rig , keep the progress pics coming.

Well here she is..... all finished in nice royal blue paint.... would have prefered white but beggars can't be choosers seeing as the paint job was free all I paid for was the materials and minimal labour.
More pics to follow, as for the hydraulic brakes it was just what was put on it.
More to come....
