We are heading out of Perth going east next week.  I have looked in my camps Oz book & there doesn't seem to be a rest area/camp spot closer than 56kms W of Coolgardie.  Does anyone know of a free/inexpensive camp spot closer to either town

Check out KARALEE ROCK .. approx. 137 k's west of Coolgardie .. stop at the dam and spend the time to climb the rock to see the sunset .. but take a torch with you for the return walk..

The dam freecamping area even has a porcelain toilet .. and dumpsite ..

Plenty of places in the scrub a couple of km out of Kal, but not in your rig.
