Finally back home after a 6 hour trip on public transport. An hour from Geelong to Melbourne, then a two hour wait. A bus ride of two hours to Bendigo with a 3 minute wait then onto the last bus to Echuca. Arrived home just before 4pm. (by taxi)
All the trains are off the tracks for track maintenance, so the only part of the trip by train was from Geelong to Melbourne.
I didn't take my laptop with me because of all the transport changes and only a small bag, and when I got there I found because of security issues where I was staying it was unwise to log into any sites.
Haven't quite gone to bed yet, but resting and watching TV AND crocheting a baby blanket for daughter. Norma, hope we get a chance to chat before you head off, what day do you think you will be leaving? Sheba, the couple from SA would have to be at least 800 ks from here, haven't heard of it but guessing. Dazren, Myrtle was sitting there waiting patiently for me, was pleased to see her, not sure if she was pleased to see me, but after lurking here over the last 10 days and reading some interesting posts wasn't sure if she would be here when I got home, haha. To the rest of you lovely people Hi, hi, and hi, and I'm not that bad am I? to disturb everybodies peace and quiet.
My lovely sister said when I left, not to stress about it and just go get some quotes and get started on getting her back on the road. I did tell her she would be the first to go with me on a little trip somewhere around Vic. Not sure how she will manage and she's not sure either. She's used to the high end of the market for holidays and not the rough and ready type. But I'm determined to take her for a spin if she is paying for a motor. Will be fun.
So did you contact the car yard? heard anything there? hope you are going to follow this all up, when you get settled - they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this. talk soon - keep warm!!

Certainly am Pam and I also aquired some little gifts from my sister that will come in handy. A headlamp brother in law had bought some time back and it was just sittting in the cupboard so she gave it to me, also a little mp3 player she had been given by some company, actually Adroit Insurance Company is written on it. She has no idea how to use it and thought I might be able to work it out. So now I have to try somehow and put all my lovley 60s music from my CDs on it. Will save carting around big packs of CDs taking up room.
Oh, and a new handbag and a new wallet she had only used once.
Hey - lucky you - visit with sister and pressies as well - getting music on to mp3 is pretty easy with your laptop - I have about 48 hours continuous 60's stuff on mine - I am sure someone around willhave lots of advice for you.

I think I may have worked it out Jules, just in my head at this stage. I put the CD into the laptop and also connect the mp3 to the laptop and transfer them across. Like you do with photos? Probably the mp3 will show up as a removeable disc.
The up side is you were travelling, and by lurking you were keep tabs on your fellow nomads. I'm sure Myrtle will forgive you for deserting here in her kilometres of need, just this once. It sounds as though you're getting your head around all your Myrtle problems and with the assistance of your kind sister it should all work out. Good for you!

Yes, it seems your having an identity crisis like us other two.....Is it Senor Wombat or Senor Moe? (signature ?)
Sorry for the diversion Marj, been hard keeping these two in line being the Senior Senor or is that the Senior Senile Senor
I've been having problems like you with my van with the people I bought it off (van only, not the conversion people) and also a repairer, I'm beginning to think the same thing, is it worth the damage to the Karma, although I think they play on that to avoid their responsibility.
