LEAVE THE PLACE IN A BETTER CONDITION THAN YOU FOUND IT !!!
Well that does it. Myrtle proved this morning she was disgusted with me for going away. She won't start. So she can sit there in the cold and freeze. Was intending to do the rounds for a motor quote but will have to ring around. Looks like a full heart transplant with new ticker (speedo) Not much point putting in a new motor then not being able to read the speedo to run her in. Vic, thats no good. Makes you wonder if anyone buys and gets what they pay for. We all seem to have some sort of hiccups. Norma, take it easy, packing up the house would easily have pulled a muscle. I ended up getting the bus into town this morning then carting home two full grocery bags, the cold lined ones. Nearly pulled my arms off. The cupboards were empty so had no choice. Beth, I like your avatar, wish I was up there with you. Looks wonderful. Now you 3 amigos, behave yourself. Not sure what I'm supposed to do with you if you keep misbehaving.
Now I have to work out what size motor Myrtle has so I can do a ring around.
I think so Sheba, although she has been easy to start since getting RACV out some time back. What with the cold and not being started for two weeks. Other than that hiccup when RACV came out she has been a dream to start all the time. Didn't have time to check anything out as had 5 min to catch the bus and now too cold to bother.
Yes, HW we all do what we can when purchasing, but they seem to get us somehow. Just had my van in a dealership in Yarrawonga. Faulty EGR valve. Had to wait nearly a week to have it fixed. $600 later I am now at Hilbrook on way home. A two or three day trip turned into nearly 2 weeks.
Unfortunately some operators take advantage of the gullible and vulnerable. We can't all be car or techno smart, and it's our nature to trust the "expert" when they advise us about the vehicle we're interested in, or the TV, computer, mobile phone etc. That seems to be life for the consumer. You now are much wiser than you were when you bought Myrtle, so you have a better chance the second time around. I bet Myrtle will be a happier girl too. The motor in that model Hi-Ace was about 2.4-2.6 litre. Not a big 4 cyclinder, but sturdy in their day. I used to drive a Hi-Ace bus of similar vintage to your Myrtle. Check the compliance plate for the information, and if the books are still in the glovebox you'll find out more. Good luck.

Yep Marj - you are on the right track with mp3 player - I think you have "rip" from cd - and "burn" to mp3 something like that anyway - smarter than the average bear - that's you!!!!!

Welcome back Marj Great to have you back online - missed you. I'm glad you are on the track of getting Myrtle on the road again. Esmeralda should be finished with her "plastic surgery" quite soon. I am going to a TowEd course on Thursday and they have promised I can have her back before the course - even if it is just for the day but apparently they are close to finishing.
Hopefully after the TowEd course I will be able to reverse and park with confidence but there are still drive through sites
Cheers, Helen
