Hi tiger5 reminds me about the annual general meeting of a club i am a member of. I attended its annual general meeting last year and got a bit of a shock. I am an archer and a member of a few different clubs with this particular club only having about 70 members, well in a ever so quiet voice the treasurer anounced ...bank balance $85,000.
Give me a break! Costs me $600. a year to shoot there!
Clubs aren't supposed to make huge profits. They're only supposed to use membership to cover costs and insurance of its members. If they have that much noney in the kitty they need to spend some on club facilities and equipment.

I agree - a club I heard about had about $50,000 - they invested it on the advice of some supposed "guru", the financial crisis hit, and the mob they invested with got into trouble, and apparently are now paying only the interest - are unable to give the club any of the principal - dont know what is going to happen there - sounds fishy to me.
