Tow Vehicle - Holden Colorado

Hi folk out there in GN land. Wonder if I could ask your opinion on towing with a 2009-2010 Auto 2WD Petrol 3.6l Holden Colorado. What are your opinions? Any and all appreciated, any Links appreciated as well.

Thanks folk, travel safe and stay happy smile

This all depends on what your towing and where you plan to go remember to find out what the towing weight the car is allowed to tow.

Here are the Specs on this Model Auto dual Cab.

As you can see the towing capacity braked is 2,000kg so you will have to limit your vans gross mass to under 2,000kg.

They do not specify ball load so that will be another point for you to check out.

As for towing it should handle a medium van easily but thirsty on fuel.

Thanks for the info, seems Rick is now looking at some Mazda with batwing doors similar shape to the colorado. Diesel 7lit to 100km. Also 3000 kg which sounds better. Much better economy than the colorado. Goodness knows what we'll end up with, I thought the van choice was driving me around the bend haha

no Sorry onedodger, that site has got it wrong again !! the true Max tow limit braked for the Colarado is as follows,  4x2 petrol and diesel  2500 kgs. 4x4 diesel 3000 Kgs

Yes they are a little heavy on petrol, however you can get the Factory fitted injected gas option and it is fully warrantied by GMH as they supply the gas engine with the modified  seats and valves, and then the Gas system is supplied and fitted by HSV-Holden.

and the power and torque remains almost the same as petrol [ 313 nm @ 2800 rpm ]

So although not in the diesel class for towing, they are still one of the best petrol models around      Rgs dazren

We have a 2006 Diesel Auto 4x4 Rodeo, just a few models back from the Colarado and couldn't be happier - particularly with the economy and towing power of diesel
