BAD WEATHER

I hope if there are any of our forum members in the Southern Highlands area that they have battened down the hatches.

Snowing in Bowral at the moment and temperature hovering around the 0 degree mark.

It's only 7 degrees here in Ulladulla with rain straight off the snowfields and almost horizontal at times.

Think we are in for a rough ride tonight. Gale force winds predicted evidently.

Stay safe everyone.

Fiji sounds wonderful Tige.  Had a couple of family members get married over there in the past 12 months.   Looks really great.

Unfortunately we won't be heading north for some time yet.  We had planned on leaving on the 2nd August and heading to Doug's place at Chinchilla but after todays visit to the doctor I have had to put everything on hold.

It certainly was when we were at Moruya Bob but I think today the wind would be coming straight across the airstrip and would make for very unhappy campers....smile

I'm 3 score years & ten & haven't seen snow falling  .. wish I was at Bowral now, sitting in a favourite recliner, nanna/poppa blanket across the legs, looking out of a double glazed picture window beside a roaring fire with maybe a mulled wine, watching it drift down .... ahh! that's the life.

That's what you guys down south do, isn't it?

Ma, sorry to hear that you have had to delay your Chinchilla trip.

Hope that there isn't anything too seriously wrong and that you get a good report and will soon be heading off.

Take care. Pam. smile

Ahhhh! Mulled wine....yummm!

Now you're talking Cupie!

Like the idea of the double glazed picture window and and roaring fire too smile

Reality check: I must go and get the washing off the line before it blows away.

Cheers. smile

Sorry to hear that Ma, hope it can be sorted quick. Its a real bummer when you have to halt your plans like that. Good luck with the next few weeks.

Dealing with snow as you describe Cupie would be the bees knees.  It is like that if you can get it.

Unfortunately for those of use who have had experience with the type of snow that they will and are getting in Bowral it is an entirely different story.

Really nice as it's falling but soon turns to brown mush and then packs down as ice and before you know it you are finding out just how much padding you have on your nether regions.

First visited Magnetic on my honeymoon in 1967.

Was beautiful then as it is now.

Hired a little mini moke & drove all round the place.  Got big black lip oysters off the rocks ... (much needed food for a honeymoon)

Fantastic

The"winter" , here,is the best I have seen ,in my travels.I have to get off the island to get "demagnetized", now and again.Too much of a good thing. It would be nice to travel south in the summer, and north in the winter.I am trying to work on making it so.

The wind overnight didn't eventuate as strong as they forecast, thankfully.

The rain however is another matter.  According to our rain gauge we have had around 50mm over the past 24 hours and it's still coming down.

Hope all goes well in hospital Dave.  Our thoughts are with you.

noMa. The wife and I spent the night free camping at Bendermeer last August and froze our butts off. In the morning the whole scenery was white including our black car. Needless to say the boss isn't free camping there in August again. Havago.yawn

That's why I don't eat oysters. What would I do if they worked?
It's been very balmy here in good old SA. Cold, still, frosty, clear long nights. Sunny, cool, fine short, days.
Too chilly to get the washing dry by 3pm after which is gets cold and damp.
Thank goodness for the RC aircon.
No double glazing on the van, but I'm coping.
