RE: New town, new home and a new family member :)

They are related HW, proper name Tiliqua Rogusa, known in the West as Bobtail Goanna's also known as Bobtail Lizards, Shingleback Skinks and a few other names.  We just call them "Bobbies".   The colour and shape vary a bit in the different states.

We have a mating pair, Milo and Ginny (long story with the names).  Their babies are released into a nature park when they are about 12 months old.  Usually a couple of year, but for some strange reason Ginny had none this year.  Maybe Milo is getting past it (like his owner, lol !).

Ginny is the Smart one, Milo is a bit of a dork!  I love the way she hides from him in the mating season and he goes beserk trying to find her, wandering all over the yard looking for her. biggrin

we used to have heaps of bluetongue lizards on our farm ,  one of my neices husbands has snakes too , yuk....

i wonder what golden retrievers are like compared to a border collie , bcs i know require alot of work and can be a hand full, if i get another dog later on he has to be very easy to look after...

Can I say Marj looks "cute", Wombat?  wink

Our last boy (Golden Retriever) was a real sook, Milo and GR's are very social towards people and love to be around you.

Here's a link with info of the Golden Retriever breed for you, Milo -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Retriever

Charlie is a handful but aren't they all when they're pups!  He's been with us for nearly 4 weeks and we could never part with him.

Marj is in her hibernating stage and last week the power was off for the whole day, so out she comes looking all sad as if to say where's my heating gone, so I had to take her out and let her crawl inside my shirt just to keep her warm.

 milo the dorkconfuse

Milo pronounced "Meelo", not Milo like the drink.  He was named after the two people we got him off, a combination of their two names.

Dork as in doing stupid things, like climbing up things and getting stuck and trapped, falling off things etc.  Also Ginny outsmarts him all the time biggrin

I thought you were only joking about the Python Wombat, she's a big girl.

Did you read this article about the python killing the child?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/11/us-crime-python-idUSTRE76A6YW20110711

We had one in the roof rafters in PNG, it got a bit too big and was a bit of a worry so we ended up releasing it into the wild.
