BACK HOME SAFE AND SOUND

Well we are back home again after a great trip in outback Queensland, having visited the following places, Nindi Gully, St George, Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, Nockundra(pop 3) but a great pub with lots of people passing through and a great camp spot on the Wilson River.

Onto Quilpie through Eromanga, stayed a couple of days then onto Coopers Creek, what a great spot a bit chilly but a lovely campfire fixed that, so much wildlife there after all the rains. Visited Windorah through Junda and Stonehenge to Longreach, which was the only real bad patch of road that we encountered.

After Longreach which had so many caravanners about we heade to Muttaburra and stayed at a place called the PUMP HOLE which was another great spot on the river, no bathroom facilities but BBQ and so peaceful again stayed 2 nights, then to Aramac, on the downhill run to home now, stayed at Barcaldine, Saaphire and Emerald for a few days, Bilouela and now we are home, so much to see not enough time.

HW I am pretty sure they all reside at the pub, had a great afternoon there, funny thing is there's only a pub and a tennis court with lights, go figure

A pub and a tennis court, What a weird combination.
Oh I know, 2 go play tennis while the other one mans the pub. And then they switch around.

Pauline is talking about the Noccundra Hotel, Camps 6 Qld 842.

About 130km west of Thargomindah just off the Adventure way that heads to Innamincka.

Great spot, well worth a visit and stopover as it is a must see outback hotel on the way to Innamincka or doing a loop from Cunnamulla around to say Charleville or Windorah/Longreach through some of the channel country.

That's the place Ron and Shirley, the bloke that was working there had only been there 1 month and said he had never met so many people from so many different places, as I have done the job myself at times I would LOVE to do it for a couple of months, a great experience I would think.

Cheers Pauline
