Thanks Ma. Did the last 700 from the 'Gully today. Didn't want to be on the road this close to home and freezing to boot.

Had a brilliant time, some great highlights, one of which was meeting some of our fellow Goeys.

700 is a lot to do in one day but I can sympathise with it being cold.

Whice GN's did you meet Fly.

Cross fingers we will be out of here either Friday (if we head North) or Saturday (if we go back down to Moruya)

Glad you had a good time and had no problems along the way.  Great shakedown cruise for the new van too.  You should have ironed out all the bugs by now. (just hope you didn't bring back any rodents with you).....

Thanks Jack, missed you to matey. x o.

We met Hylda and John and Chis and Terry, all sooooo lovely Ma.

We ironed out bugs alright. no

Need all new plumbing underneath, smashed to pieces by rocks, back door needs new locking system, gotta get a battery inside her, lots of screws fell out, we put them in a cup and bought them home biggrin

AND

We WILL get a diesel heater, no matter what, thats soooo important.

Hope Firday happens for you Ma.

Yeah most days we did a couple hundred but today, we headed home. Not a lot of free camps down into the Hunter Valley I am afraid and we weren't staying in a park.

34 days on the road and our accomodation cost was under $10 a day, next time, nil. wink

Its not too bad Jack, the back door was a bit funny from when we bought it, but it didn't like the few hundred k's of gravel we travelled to go to Leichardt Falls in Qld.

We bought the van second hand from a couple who never had it off road so we knew we would have a few things happen.

Very very happy with it on the whole though, thanks for the concern. wink

Welcome back firefly, sounds like you had a great trip, Where did you go? What did you see?
Certainly was a good chance to find those annoying little faults, glad it wasn't anything too major.

Thanks Marj.

We went to Darwin then back down through the Queensland Outback.

Leichardt Falls in Qld was amazing, it has water running over it and what a sight.

Winton was lovely and many many other places. Did a lot of bush camping and that was great.

I will throw up some photos over the next few days if you all would be interested. smile

Was very mild there this year Jack. A lot of wind which cooled it down more than usual.

I love Darwin too mate.

Welcome back. From my own experience of lose screws, and that's not my night life, I found the glue and screw method works the best. Still not talking about my night life.
I dip the screws into the tube of All Clear and screw as normal, as you do.
Nothing has fallen out since.
I have a dicky door as well. Every time I separate the solid door from the screen door the lock changes the direction of "lock", or doesn't lock at all. Damned nuisance, but I've worked it out a bit better now.
I guess the PVC plumbing couldn't take the bashing from the stones underneath. New stuff will be more resilient, but you could use plastic tubing which is more flexible and tolerant of the odd rock. I've seen some really odd rocks in my travels.
Not as good as the even rocks which are much nicer.
A good experience overall seems to be a great outcome.
Back to work now I suppose?

Thanks Vic and Chris. smile

I might suggest the glue and screw Chris, thanks for that. Just gotta work out where they all come from first. biggrin

Yes, back to work mate, to earn more to go next year.

We are replacing the plumbing and changing the direction as well. All the pipes head for the side and get a real pizzling from the tyres so if they shoot out the back, it will be better. I have an idea with a flexible cable cover that I hope will work on the piping. If it gets busted, its easily replaced and a lot cheaper.

The water tank in the Windsor is well covered, unlike our Jayco Hawk. We had to replace the plumbing and the tank after a trip in it. no

Thanks so much everyone.

We did have a great time and the van went way better than we expected to be honest, just Mother Nature and her rocks mostly. biggrin

Cleaning it out today and hardly any dust or anything in the cupboards so thats a bonus. Wanna take it to Birdsville next year so it has to with stand a bit of the red stuff, I don't mean wine either. wink

I will put a few pics up soon and tell you a few secret spots that are spectacular as well guys. smile
