Anybody got a Holden Colorado?

Starting to look for another car. Am ken on a duel cab ute.

Anybody have a Colorado? Among others I am looking at a 2009 diesel LX model which also has RC MY09 in the title.

Car yard tells me tow capacity is 3,000 yet my research says 2,000 kilos. Any ideas here?

Any comments at all, good or bad?

Am also looking at the Triton.

Ross

Hi Rosco

I tow a 18ft 6in long tandum wheel caravan (approx 2 tonne loaded) with my 3lt automatic turbo diesel colorado and am thoroughly rapped in its towing performance.

During a recent trip to the Northern Territory it handled all the elements that it threw at us  - head winds, side winds as well as jump up hills with no problems.

Handled them no better or worse than other similar type common rail 3.0 lt diesels that are on the market, which are all pritty good and comparable.

Towing the van under good conditions it used about 13 litres per 100 km.

Without the van it uses approx 7-9 litres per 100 km .

I purchased it new 2 years ago and have had no mechanical problems

Cheers,

 John.P

Don't know where you got the 2000 kg towing from ??? Redbook.com.au states towing capacity for that tug @ 3000 kgs, they have to be a good unit as they are basically an Isuzu and they are well respected, I am awaiting delivery of a Colarado LTR  but with the 3.6 petrol and Factory fitted Lpg, and that has a towing capacity of 2500 kgs so i think ALL Colarado's would be rated above the 2000 kg,  [ Go for it !!! ] Rgs dazren

Thanks all, much appreciated.

Dazren, a couple of sites have it at 2000 kilos, the drive.com.au and carbuddy.com.au. There were a couple of others but I cant remember their names offhand.

The car I was looking at on carsales has it at 3,000 and the same car on drive has it at 2,000. Rang the caryard and the sales guy says 3,000. But since when has anyone believed a car salesman??

Cheers
Ross
