Helicopter Crash at Lake Eyre

Just heard on the news a Tourist helicopter crashed at Lake Eyre, somewhere north of Maree, Cooper Creek area.

Not sure if I got it right, either 4 killed or 4 on the helicopter.

Weill try and find some more news on it.

2 guys killed in an Ultra-light crash yesterday 3 K's from Emerald Airport.  They were on a check-out flight.  One was the prospective Buyer.  Just found them this afternoon.

Also a few bad Car accidents up this way in the last few days.   They seem to come in clusters these days.

Be very careful on the roads every-one.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Latest reports indicate that the helicopter crash may have involved ABC journalists on assignment. Subject to confirmation, but very sad.

Yes, it was an ABC Chopper, with reporter and cameraman.

Confirmed dead are the very well known ABC reporter Paul Lockier, photographer John Bean and pilot Gary Ticehurst.

I was really saddened to hear of the tragedy involving these 3 men.

During the Qld. floods in January, Paul Lockyer was the first journalist into
Grantham...and he stayed for several nights and slept on the floor with the evacuees.
He even continued to phone some residents every few weeks to check if they were getting back on their feet and doing ok. From what my friend (from Grantham) told me, he was a lovely bloke who genuinely cared.
