Yes it is there, nice site, good facilities, potential good fishing.

The area was badly affected by the recent floods but all should be well now.

Google maps will show the van park and facilities @ 25 23.8s. 151 46.7e.

The image you may be looking at will be possibly dated at 2004, the dam was not yet finished then and little water is shown.

Now the dam is full and is a great expanse of water with a good boat ramp right near the Van Park.

Good road all the way and a nice drive out through Mt.Perry to Gin Gin if you are heading north.

So how do we get there, off the Mt Perry to Gayndah rd, is it a good surface, did you take any photos when you were there.

If you are going from Gayndah take the Mt Perry road about 18 ks. east of Gayndah.

This will take you over the Burnett River right at Mingo Crossing. Van park right there.

The road was good 2 years ago when we were there and should be the same now.

Good all the way to Gin Gin through Mt. Perry.

Take a few garden worms and sal****er prawns for bait and watch for Lung Fish on the surface.

Fish to catch, Freshwater Jew, Yellowbelly, Possibly a Bass or even a Barra.

Not sure about Crays, could be there.

Read up on your freshwater fishing Regs. to be safe re: sizes and closed seasons.

Oh boy, sounds good, kids just bought me a new rod, hope squiggies will work for the yellow belly.

WE stayed there for a few days last year, the park only has 12 powered sites and the water supposedly is not suitable for drinking, but I noticed a few vanners with double filter units did so, if only for washing up...the local council send a water tanker in weekly to fill up the fresh water tank next to the shower/toilet block...is a lovely place to stop, but think if I go again would need to have a boat or some means of using all the water that`s available right in front of your eyes........oohhhh and for those folk not requiring 240 there is heaps of camp space available complete with on site managers & small shop.

Road in from Gayndah was a mixture of sealed/dirt and in good nick, despite the rain.
