Hi gillyb maybe come on here more often and tell the others where you are. You never know who might be in the same vicinty at the same time as you and can hook up.
I used to Marj but have been a little reluctant since my spot of bother but I guess that could have happened regardless of my postings here. Anyway will be at the caravan park on the beach at Rollingstone for a few days from Sunday if any one is in the area I would love to catch up as my trip is far too quickly coming to an end
There is always one bad egg in a carton gillyb, but you've already had experience with that one. Nobody is going to know where you are unless you tell them. I did find the same in my first trip. Talked to all the nomads on here but never met up with one although there were circumstances that stopped me calling in on the ones I had planned. Keep enjoying your holiday gillyb and you may catch up with some as you come back towards home.
I just can't get away too far at the moment Pam. Bubs due today so keeping close to home. Poor daughter over it, reckons this will be a 10 pounder by the time its born. She's very teary. So keeping within reach if she needs me. Have to work something out Pam for the next one.
Oh, Marj, is she "nesting"? Can't wait for end of October, though I may have to fly back for a weekend from Melbourne, my grandson has invited me to his year 12 formal, and I feel so privileged - I have to be there, I am so proud of him. He is a boy who is not at all academic, but has managed to get to year 12.
Good luck to your daughter for the birth - keep us posted Marj - and take care.

I'd love to meet up with some of you - I'm in Longreach right now. Anyone in this vicinity? Heading all the way to Ilfracomb (all of 27km) the day after tomorrow - which I think is Saturday. Stay there a day or three then go to Blackall via Isisford.

I can recommend the almost free camp on the river at Blackall nomadic1. Good size area away from the main road. You're supposed to pay $5 at the info centre, but there was no-one there when I went, so I didn't pay.
That's the trouble with nomads - you never know where they are. Meeting by chance is just a coincidence. I'm in a very prominent van park north of Adelaide. Not going anywhere for a while. Trying to work hard to save up and top up the diesel fund. Maybe HW is right. Log in regularly so we know where you are.

Unfortunately we stayed at the Blackall van park last year when we were up that way.
I say unfortunately because we didn't know about the camp on the river. There was nothing really wrong with the van park, well nothing that a make over in the amenities wouldn't cure, clean enough though and they do make a good damper.
Will be back that way probably next year so will be staying at the river camp this time that's for sue
Stayed at Jericho free camp ( donation gold coin ) about 4 weeks ago, lovely spot right beside river, we were on our way home (yuk) so only stayed 1 night but would have loved to have stayed longer, think you will enjoy. Pauline
If I may jump in here and ask if any of you are still in the area of Moama or heading down to Bendigo by any chance? Have been keeping up with the posts and would love to meet up with someone on here to gain a bit of inside knowledge of "the open road" before I head off in a month or two. It is very interesting and entertaining keeping up with you all.
Cheers
Tess
