At long last, I am off on my first trip in the HJ Motorhome. Going down to the Burdiken, tonight, and Bowen , tosee my uncle Joe. It will a good test for the old Holden, and hopefully, I will get some crabs.I , also, hope to get some crabs, at a favourite fishing spot, Wallaces landing. Will keep in touch. Bill
Good luck with the first trip Bill, but I would be reluctant to leave your little paradise permanently in the future, I reckon you have it made living there!

Am at Wallaces landing and have caught 2 goo mud crabs, and a nice grunter about a kilo. The holden went well, but has a bit of diff noise, the only part I didn,t check. No problem,I will get some STP and put it in when I get home. This definately a step up from the first bait box. Will go the check the pots after tea(mudcrab!)Bugga, its hard in the tropics. Bill
Take your time Bill12, and leave a few of those muddies for me when I get over that way , December/January. Don't worry too much about the diff whine, when it starts to bang and grind, start then. I drove aa HZ taxi years ago and got 870,000 kms from it before it finally let go. Actually, the passengers kept whinging and finally I gave in. The first, second and third replacement diffs were almost as bad, no charge. Finally got one that was ok.

Landed another 3 good muddies, That makes 6. Gave a couple to my 80 yr old uncle at Merinda, nth of Blowen, woops. The wind blew the L out of it.Holden is going well. The fuel guage is wildly inaccurate, and I still have diff noise. Have to go back to Mag.is tommorow, bugga. Will get away more after theSept school holidays. All in all , a good trip, so far. Bill
I would say that they are delicious fish and crustaceans, and it is you mind that makes them some thing else. O, by the way , I got another 6 mud crabs.Bill
Had 2 for dinner last night. With a cleansing ale, and watched the sunset , down on the beach at H,shoe bay, Mag. is, where I live. Its ahard life, but someones got to do it.Bill
Sounds like your in seventh heaven there Bill, I knew what type of crabs you were talking about, should be easys to pluck off when they're that size, lol !
You said you hadn't checked the diff, does that mean the oil level too? Could it just be it needs an oil top up?

Yes . checked the oil level this morning, and added some STP diff oil treatment, The seal at the front of the diff has a minor leak, and will replace. It seems to get quieter at highway speeds, But no major mech damage. There were lots of small crabs, and thebiggest was caught on a fishing line! Good camping at Wallaces landing, via Inkerman, during the dry season. Its about 12klms south of Home Hill, NQ.
