After all those wet, cold weeks I now come down with a very painful flu. Everything I do hurts, and hurts a lot. Add the cold and the shakes and I'm feeling grossly miserable. Yes, I want sympathy. Feel sorry for me. I'm crook. I haven't been this crook since Exmouth in 2007.

Poor you Chris - healing coming your way!!!! Feel it at about 6am tomorrow morning. Spring has sprung - had someone post a pic of blossoming wattle last week I think - always a sign.

CG, I do feel sorry for you, winter over and down you go. Just take it easy, wrap up warm, dose yourself up, warm food, and don't go doing anything too much.
Oh I have to have a smile - when we, and our friends headed south at the beginning of July, we were the only silly 'nuts' in vans heading south. Last week as we were heading north for home, we were the only vans heading that way, all the others were heading south!!!!!

Hi CG - so sorry to hear you are crook - there's a lot of very nasty bugs around lately. I have a great recipe for a potion which kills off a lot of bugs.
Grab a big pot and chuck in 6-8 lemons quartered, 2 knobs of garlic roughly chopped (don't worry about peeling), a big knob of unpeeled ginger (4 or 5 inches or so) roughly sliced, 1 small chilli with seeds. Cover with 5 litres of water bring to the boil and simmer for about 1 hour until liquid is reduced by a third. Strain making sure you press out all the liquid from the lemons. You should end up with 2 or 3 litres. Have one cup of hot potion 2 or 3 times a day with honey to taste and you can also combine with an asprin before going to bed. It sounds horrible but is really effective and actually tastes quite good once you get used to it.

geez I hope not Smokeydk ,we have had enough rain here , even though summer is bushfire season here I wouldnt mind a little bit of sunshine not to hot though
Heard on the news the other day we, I am presuming all the country but maybe just Vic, are in for a very long hot summer because it got hot so early. So who knows till it happens.
Poor Chris, and no-one to leap up when you croak out 'I want a drink of water'. Wrap up warmly and veg out in front of some mindless television - once you start to get a bit better you'll feel so bored by it that you'll throw off the last of the flu as quickly as possible.
Slept until lunch time today, had a shower and then more sleep. Got up for a couple of hour, but heading back to bed soon. The headache is a killer, and I'm not game to cough in case my head implodes. Eating is the last thing on my mind. I think I'll recover fairly quickly with all the kind thoughts and scientific remedy recipes. My grog of choice is Bundy, but I'm out. Bugger! Thanks for the support everyone. It's times like this when it would be nice to have someone to tuck me in and fetch and carry. I have good neighbours here in the park, but most of them don't know I'm crook.
