RE: re Happy Wanderer

Son rang at 5pm. Sounded a lot better, had been to visit a mate and mowed the back lawns. Thats a whole section on a rideon, so that would have kept his mind off things for a while. If he just keeps himself busy for now will make it easier for him.
He's hoping she will rent the downstairs from him rather than take the kids out of town. It would work if they both talked it out first.
I have app with doctor tomorrow. Can't shake off this crap feeling I've had since last week. Lightheaded, tummy troubles, etc, etc. Time to take a visit to doc and get checked out.
Want everything running smooth by the end of the week for trip to Bendigo.

Got my chillax pills. Zoloft. New doctor, said I should have been put on them 2 years ago when I had my breakdown but thats me not wantng to take any pills. Now I know I have to.
Now working on leaving here end of Sept to spend a month with son in Biggenden, will try and do month and month about.
Son in Geelong is going to sell up and move up there to live with him, hopefully getting a job in the mines and using younger sons place as his base. Will be good company for each other.
Daughter heads off to Bendigo in the morning for ultrasound so will know whats happening by lunchtime I hope.
I bought an Essendon Bear today for new Bubs, It plays the theme song when you press his tummy. Daughter said S.in.L. will be rapt as he wondered which team Bubs would follow.

I take Zoloft too Marj..been on them for around 10 years. My doctor upped the dosage after my breakdown in '05, but I've been back to regular dosage now. My doctor and I discussed me going off them completely, but '05 gave me a terrible fright, so I'm staying on them.

Good news re your other son going up to Biggenden. Is the younger one working, or can't because of his accident?

Now let's hope your daughter has no problems giving birth. Fingers crossed! smile

No Beth, Younger son doesn't work because of his accident. He's on permanent work cover.

There isn't any other sort of bear your could have bought Marj.  Essendon is the best. Our van is called "Essie"

On pills for years too (not Zoloft), but I have decided to reduce the dosage - told the doctor and he was OK with it but have to do it slowly.

Daughter booked in for Sunday afternoon to start being induced. So bubs birthday could be Monday 5th Sept. Now we have a date, she's happy to relax. She's off to enjoy nieces 3rd birthday tomorrow knowing her little one won't be sharing the same birthday.

That must ease your mind Marj. My 2nd was induced, and it all happened very quickly after that, so again, fingers crossed.

It's difficult when our kids are far away, or when we are far away from our kids.
When I left home I decided I would spend every second Christmas with my girls, but that didn't always work out either.
Now I'm in SA, "closer" to them I don't see them either. Two don't speak to me because I don't do things the way they want me to. One is still talking to me but 600kms away, and very independent. Her dad is closer but works away.
My heart is always open to them, and so is my door. They choose not to enter. We were closer when they were younger.
I can't do anything for them, and I'm damn sure they wouldn't do anything for me even if I really needed it.
At the end of the day they are adults, making their own lives. I'm an old f..t getting on with mine.
Their love is conditional.
You're lucky if you have a close relationship with your family, but try not to get too involved in their dramas. Support is good, but I have found they don't take advice from dumb old people.
They know everything after 35 and our brains go to mush.

Me too Billeeee - I am living near my daughter at the moment, I have two sons in Melbourne - I miss the boys, and enjoy seeing my daughter regularly, but her family life is difficult, and there are times when I would just like to opt out of her problems. But them I would miss my grandsons, who are the delights of my life - so I just go along keeping the peace, holding my tongue, watching here wasting her life.

But - c'est la vie, as the French say, what will be, will be.
