I haven't travelled much of Vic but I have spent some time in that region. Lakes Entrance, the cruise to lunch. Tara Bulga Rainforest and the coast from there. It's a very interesting corner of Oz. Wilson's Prom is compulsory.
I stayed with friends at Coronet Bay and at Won Wron, but there are areas you can park around Wonthaggi to Phillip Island and around that coast.
There may even be some snow up in the highlands. Ooh, I'm excited for you!

Hey, Wron Wron? I hope you had been a good girl!!!!ha,ha!
Billeeeee - Victoria has so much going for it - unfortunately not the weather - Orbost - Buchan Caves - Bairnsdale - Gippsland Lakes - boat tour from Lakes Entrance is pretty nice, likely to have dolphins following you around - Philip Island - then off the coast - high country - Bright, from there you are only 54k from snow line at Falls Creek - Beechworth - the bakery is pretty good - Eldorado - go gold panning - then there is Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Maldon, The Grampians - then the west coast - Warrnambool, Portland, and on to the Great Ocean Road - beautiful trip there.

I could just go on and on - I love Victoria - you may notice! There is so much to see and do - just ignore the weather, put a jumper on. most of all ENJOY!

Put on an extra jacket and enjoy the snow.  smile

Hey Billeeee - are you going to Hotham? Head to an op shop and buy yourself and winter jacket - that's Victorian winter, not Queensland.

Have fun, build a snowman, ha, ha!! If you are heading down through Dinner Plain and Falls Creek, you will be in Bright - there is heaps of free camping around the area - in the Buckland Valley etc., friends own a caravan park in Porepunkah (Riverside Tourist Park - Buffalo Road) - have unpowered camping next to the river -

Stay warm and have fun!!

OK Billee, who's the lovely lady? C'mon share with your fellow nomads. You know you can't keep secrets here, especially when you post photos.
Is she a fellow nomad?

Thanks for the info Helen. It's always good to catch up with other nomads.
I haven't seen a winter since '96 and my skin is the palest it's been since then.
I don't want snow though. Too cold for me.

Hey Billeeeee did you get to see the real Ned Kelly remains or are they not on display yet? I have great memories of a foolhardy camping trip in the area in spring 1985 - Didn't realise how ice cold it could be. I stayed at the Bright caravan park - fantastic and the owners cats came and slept in my tent along with the dogs. The most interesting part was getting about halfway down Mt Hotham and finding out i virtually had no brakes. My car was a Citroen and I found out later there was a small hydrolic leak which had drained the brakes without me noticing. It was snowing, a narrow, winding road with litle visability and I had to keep going for as long as possible because if I had stopped someone could have run into me as there was nowhere to pull over.... managed to make it down the big hill carefully using gears and to a area where the road was wider and I could pull off safely. Thanks for all the photo's it looks like you are having a great time.
