Advice please re bushfire travel?

I'm up here in Mareeba, bush fires have been burning on and off for the last 2 weeks, I'm over breathing in the smokey air, today was really thick and hard to breath. Moving south in a couple of weeks, was going down the inland highway to Emerald, BUT now not sure bout that, should I stick to the coast road instead?

Cough, cough, splutter !

I posted this a few days ago, so that people could check Bushfire info. at any time.

Heard on the ABC Radio this morning about Bushfires in Lawn Hill NP.   Every-one's been moved to Adeles' Grove for the moment, and the fire is being monitored 3 times a day.

Heard about the following Web Address on the same programme, so here it is, for any-one interested.

You can check on Bushfires anywhere.

http://sentinel.ga.gov.au/acres/sentinel/kml_data.shtml

That link will show where Bushfires are at any time, so you can plan which way will be best for you to travel.

Cheers,

Sheba.
