Agree with all the comments and it is a judgement call.
I stopped to help a motorist who ran out of fuel just out of cobar and he had rang the nrma
who said they were an hour away, that was 5 hours earlier. We gave him 5 lt of fuel to get him to Cobar
and he went to the nrma who told him the service man was in Mildura and no way was he getting there that day
he did at least wave us down before we got to him
