When we nomads get together we spend much time relating amusing stories of happenings along the road. I have been to Western Australia for the 3rd time this trip and by now should realise not to get off the road since so much of the West is sand. I made the mistake of going just slightly off the tarmac which looked to be quite solid and became bogged. While my travelling companion was positioning his vehicle to pull me out 6 or 7 young men in fluoro vests appeared and in no time pushed me out. We still have no idea where they came from - one saying something about a "first response team" and another asking if "this is a set-up?". To me they looked like Guardian Angels.
We certainly discussed some interesting stories over the last few days. It is fantastic to be able to compare escapades. Wombat I was waiting for you to write that seeing the photo of her m/h is in the avatar, but I am sure you were not involved. JazzinAround never mentioned any wombats at all.
That's just the way it should be when a traveller gets into strife. It's reassuring to hear that it happened this time. Chivalry is not dead, and it's great to learn the young folk are chivalrous in this age of selfishness and I'm alright Jack.
