No! Nullarbor last week was more than that. They tell me ****burn at the SA/NSW border is pricey as well.
It's attributed to freight.
There was a time in Broome when I thought I'd go into the freight business. I wouldn't actually carry anything, I'd just charge freight.
It seemed to be the most prolific excuse for the high prices, but I was a bit suspicious when they added $1 to each newspaper.

A fellow pilot is spending the night at Tennant Creek, heading north, and then west to Derby with a haul-pack tray.
If you see him you may want to give the Hi-Ace a wave and a g'day on the 2-way. Tell Errol Granny said "hi".

I must of got lucky was only about 1.96 when we passed through in September. Dunmarra and Ti Tree were more expensive.

I must add here the help I got from the Road House people when my battery died was worth the cost of fuel in that case.

Was doing a piloting job from Geraldton to Pt. Hedland a couple of weeks ago. One of the dearest place in WA would be Nanutarra Road House between Carnarvon and Karatha. Up around the $2.00 mark for diesel!

Interestingly, Kununurra is pretty expensive also, however Whyndham is approx 10 cents cheaper. If camped in Kununurra, take a day trip to Whyndham for fuel and a look around!

Curtin Springs was well over $2 a litre of Diesel but Yulara turned out to be cheaper at $1.88. We havent found another that was dearer than Curtin Springs, but I'm sure there must be one somewhere.

Was $1.85 per litre when I topped up there. Headwind was atrocious. Fuel consumption went up by about 12%.

Renner Springs - We were there on Good Friday this year, just breaking the journey with an overnight stop.

We were (pleasantly) surprised to see that the guy opened the bar and restaurant for the evening. probably the only place in Australia serving grog on Good Friday.

Yay for Renner springs!
