I trigger the camera by remote control up to 1 km away.
1) The camera is mounted on a aluminium rig with 2 motors (called servos). One rotates the rig 360 degrees (Pan).
2) The other servo moves a tray where the camera is attached up and down (Tilt).
3) The third channel in the radio send a signal to an infra red bulb which flashes in front of the infra red receptor of the camera triggering the shutter.
4) the rig is attached to the kite line just like a cable car ( Pendulum suspension).
All I have to pray is for a good and steady wind. If you want more info about the system just google KAP (Kite Aerial Photography)
