you would need to climb the stairs on the left to get up the top, and the staricase is almost at the end of the walk cannot be seen from the riverwalk.
you missed a great walk, the hardest part was climbing the stairs, just take your time, we stopped about 3 times to have a rest going up but once there it was spectacular.
