I think Cindy said in our newsletter she was going to send all our comments to someone in federal govt, don't know of any other.

I wonder if the CMCA are onto this one. They seem to be an active organisation when it comes to representing their member's interests.

Maybe those affected should follow it up with their state motoring organisations.

We can all be pro-active in this issue. As we are more mobile these days, state borders don't mean much, (unless you're carrying fresh fruit, veg and honey).
A national standard and fee for vehicle registration of all categories would be the solution to a lot of problems. A national drivers licence and licensing standard would also make sure we are all driving on the same page of the same rule book.
The states could still have the revenue.
My job demonstrates this all to vividly. Every state has its rules. Some are parallel with the other states, while others are almost bizarre and unreasonable.
The people who make these rules are never affected by the rules they make.
Bring on national licences and registrations!!!!

A great idea, however, can you imagine NSW sharing the revenue from the rego of over 1 million cars with Tasmania's 100000 ( not actual figures)
It took them a century to get the rail guages the same. And if it was National the price of annual pink slips and CTP would have to raise so the fed gov could make a quid out of it.
Be careful what you wish for.

NSW seems to be the state with the highest rego and licence fees and the most bankrupt state can't see them agreeing to forgo their current rip off of us motorists who live in NSW, gave serious thought to registering the van in the N.T last year but they said had to also change licence as well which was not a real option can just live in hope that one day common sense will prevail.
