When I was just travelling or parked up with the van the Waeco was chained to the van wheel. Now I'm doing the road pilot work I need to be ready at all times, so the fridge stays in the car. I can only handle roadhouse tucker for a little while.
I don't know where you all put all those cooking gadgets. I cook out under the awning either on the gas cooker or in the electric frying pan. One-pot meals suit my lifestyle, but sometimes I cook a silverside, slice it and freeze it in zipped bags for future use.
I also carry a full loaf of sandwiches - ham, cheese and mustard, or sliced turkey and cheese. These can be toasted or fried, or eaten thawed and fresh.
Meat and 3 veg is ok sometimes but really boring. The one-pots keep all juices and goodness. Nothing gets wasted.
I don't store any fresh meat. I buy it when I want to cook it. The van fridge and ice box are just too small to store copious amounts of fresh meat and veges, so I store is cooked.

Just came back from Wellington Point on Moreton bay in Qld. had fish n chips in the park overlooking the bay, while enjoying the cool sea breeze.

Now back in Jimboomba (hot) so it will be scrambled eggs under the annex 2 nite

Thanks CG, you've answered a query of mine without me asking the question.  I have always wondered if home cooked silverside can be successfully frozen.

we eat very well on the road.but reading these posts i see we're not the only ones.

for one male i take my hat off to the young ladies that perform beautifully without a full kitchen whilst on the road.

GOD only knows what meals youd turn out on things like xmas etc.

Heidi,my wife ,never complains but i ALWAYS help by peeling, cutting . dishwashing together etc

Cheers Rod
