Is anyone travelling the Nullarbor from Nov 29th Wa side heading East?

Howdy

My name is Colleen and im 37yrs old..Im just curious my little dog and I are heading across the Nullarbor heading East from Nov 29th and will be starting on the Nullarbor on this day.. Im heading to Kangaroo Island SA to do a House Sit..

If so, Is it possible maybe to meet up or something then my family and friends will be more at ease.. When i came across the Nullarbor in January this year to Wa i did meet Jon and it was nice to know he would only be a few hours to a day behind me if anything happened..

Thanks :)

Hey Jon

I love Wa its an amazing place.. I only got as far up north as Exmouth but have seen all the rest :) I have really enjoyed it but time to move on again.. House Sit on KI Sa then home for a visit.. Then maybe going in convoy with some friends up the Centre of Aus winter next year, which should be good..

Enjoy the rest of your travels and take care :)

Hi Colleen,

Any chance you will be able to make the get together at Cannington (Fast Eddy's) on the 23rd or will you be too far away? (see get togethers).

No relation to Len?

Thanks for the heads up Jon, you forgot to tell Colleen about my transformation when it's a full moon wink

The Nullabor is quite safe Colleen, just check the roadside stops out for other RV users staying overnight and you will be fine, most have parked up by around 4PM or earlier.....safety in numbers.....avoid any place that doesn't have anyone already parked there.

Lets know on get togethers whether you will be able to attend Fast Eddy's/Slow Wombats.....wink biggrin

No relation to Len..

I did meet a Lenny in Wa and he was in a big bus with his wife travelling. They are from Castlemaine in Vic.. I saw them at a rest area as i ran out of fuel between Kalbarrie and Monkey Mia.. I was so thankful he drove me and a friend 70 odd kms to get fuel and back again.. I will always be grateful for that :) I was lucky to meet such nice people..

 It is surprising just how many nice people one meets on the road these days, as with lenny nothing is too much trouble.

 Hi Colleen, details are in the get together thread, 23rd of this month, let me know on that thread if you are able to go before you take off, these are the details;

.................................................................................

So here it is folks, with Tezza's blessing, hope most can make it on that day if possible.

I have booked a table but need to confirm the numbers for joining tables etc before the day, so if you think you can make it let me know by a post here or by pm so I have an idea of how big a table we need.

Everyone orders and pays individually when leaving. As arrival times may be staggered, suggest it is better to order when you are ready to eat rather than wait for everyone to arrive, also easier for the staff at the restaurant if it is staggered.

So;

"Fast Eddy's Carousel Cannington (On Albany Highway, in Westfield Shopping Centre).

Lunch between 11AM and 3PM

Wednesday 23rd November 2011

http://www.fasteddyscafes.com/location.htm

Note: The menu is revised regularly, so you may have to ring them if you want to know exactly what is available on the day, but there will be plenty of choices irrespective so probably not warranted.

Post or pm Vic if you are coming or intend to,

Thanks

..........................................................

Regards Lenny Scrase, I knew one from Hervey Bay, Queensland, he was ex RAAF.

Sorry you can't make it Colleen, maybe another time.

I first met Lenny in NSW when he was serving there.   He was also "moonlighting" as a bouncer at the Pink Pussycat at Kings X.

He looked a bit like Jack Palance, he later went to Vietnam and his first marriage broke up.   I just happened to be in a cafe at Hervey Bay when he walked in, said he was re-married and was working locally as a hospital orderley.  Don't know much more than that.

He is the only Scrase I have known (other than yourself), so don't come across too many.

Hope you find someone going the same way for your trip over around the same time.smile
