Mine has to have the plum pud. Even though I don't eat it, it reminds me of Mum.
Being the sweet tooth that I am, mine has to be a really good fruit salad, with jelly and ice cream. There are always lots of desserts, but these are my faves.
Interesting question for me this year..I did love a leg ham and plum pudding and it was always on the Christmas table..but I don't eat meat any longer. I love seafood so Salmon will be on the table with a good bottle of bubbly.... or may be two...lol
I am off this thread, it is not easy trying to stay good....reading trifle ..puddings, leg ham and duck....Gosh it is almost wine oclock at my house...bye...
I am same Popeye ..My dad alway liked roast pork withthe crackle for christmas lunch and plum pudding and home made custard but he with mum now too ... I dont realy want to do much this year.....

Pickled Pork is nice, Duck is Great but it is always better how the Chinese cook it though, roast pork is a must and so is a good rich plum pud, none of which is good for the archeries but hey it is the festive season. I can wish the Cardiologist a Happy New Year then. I'm with you Lilly, I don't want to do anything this year but my kids won't let me be on my own but I fly to Townsville Boxing Day early AM so looking forward to that, I will see my granddaughter.

I have no doubt our table will have way to much food, there is normally a goose or part there of, ham on the bone and either a lamb or pork roast along with all the roast vegies and trimmings. Desert will be plum pudding, trieffle, icecream and fruit salad. So not only will I over eat on the day but will be eating leftovers for a week. I am yet to convince my wife to come camping and hidew over chrismas and eat seafood and drink beer until the season is over. We will feed about 15 this year for lunch and there will be a gathering in excess of 50 for dinner, trouble with big families (never been a heated arguement yet either) cheers blaze
Got really tired of doing the full Christmas dinner bit for around 30 people so told them last year that it's now up to them. I've been doing it for 25 years and now it's someone elses turn. Of course it didn't happen and when I said I was going to be away at Christmas time they weren't very impressed.
They wanted to know who was going to cook the turkey etc., NOT THIS LITTLE BLACK DUCK!!
We are spending Christmas on the beach and will have ham sangas and bubbly. Heaven.
Years ago i took kids to port macquarie for christmas after i had too many years of hubby and his mate's drunk under the grape vine and we had hamburger and hot chips on the beach for christmas lunch it was great ..

When I was a teenager my first serious boyfriend took me to Mt. Gambier and the Great Ocean Road over Christmas. I didn't have a mind of my own back then and I'd go wherever I was told. Anyway we had turkey sandwiches for Christmas dinner. Simple but great with my favourite person at the time. These days I seem to spend the day on my own. I don't get invited to spend the time with any of my kids, so I can take a hint. Even if we were all together it would be a barbecue and trimmings, outside, cold drinks and chatting. But not this year either.

I do the family's evening meal. Always cold, because they will have had a hot lunch at various other family places. Prawns are a must, as is trifle. I vary the salads from year to year, but the kids won't let me change much.
I will be going to a communal feast at a friend's winery where we all bring something and eat all day into the evening - we are all orphans or waifs who don't get invited to family or respectable xmas do's. My contribution will be a version of Vietnamese cold rolls with scallops, sang choy bow, and the best incarnation of Drunken Laird Trifle ever. Others will be providing huge prawns, crayfish, duck and other bits and pieces.
Blaze - a feast for 50 is mind boggling. It's great your lot don't have any blow ups. I've seen a few xmas barnies in my time.
CG hope you have a great day, oyu were talking about organising a orphans lunch in another thread.
Pauline all Chinese bbq/roast is great - the soya chicken is excellent. One of my favourite meals is a mixed bbq platter of duck, soya chicken, pork and suckling pig. Sometimes they include octopus as well.
Whatever and wherever you eat and whoever you eat it with I hope you all have a fantastic day.
