Magna Mesh Screen

Has anyone tried these and if so can they be fitted to a caravan door, I realise they are smaller than a normal house door..........

I believe they're attached magnetically, and as caravan door frames and the doors are aluminium, I don't like your chances.
You may find a way to attach to door frame using velcro strips.

It would be a great idea if you could do as CG suggested mate. They sound fab don't they. Velcro would be the way to go for sure. smile

sorry pauline I may have mislead you the screen is in her house stuck to the metal frame edges of the door to her garage, not in her caravan.

Jules47 has these at her house and they work well.  I think you would need to cut them down too much to use in the van.  I bought and set of hanging strips from Bunnings - they are made of the same stuff.  I removed one strip - there are now 3 (I think) and each one is around five or six inches wide.  I currently stick them on with velcro but will be putting a couple of hooks up shortly to make them more secure.

Helen, I looked at those in Bunnings after you showed them to me at Greens Lake. The measurements didn't fit for my sliding door unfortunately, but they looked good.
I'm still looking for something that will fit, its hard as part of the sliding door sits in the way.

Marj, I have bought the velcro dots to hold the sides in place a bit better and will trial them when I next head up to see mum and dad.  Maybe you could check with Jimbo about his screen, maybe it would be better for Myrtle.

Wouldn't you stick it to the inside of the sliding door? I thought they were a good idea for camper vans when you need to keep the door open for breeze and ventilation.
There's a screen which attaches to the tailgate when it's open. I've seen them on the rental camper vans. It adds a bit more cover and shelter under the tailgate if the kitchen is across the back.
So many gadgets. So little time (and money).
You could buy a length of screen material to make your own. Hem it or secure the edges, and stick it place with velcro.
I have a roll of velcros which is self-adhesive and can be cut to the required lengths to do the job.

The one Jimbo had was a good one, must ask him where he got it from. It was bigger and would probably fit my sliding door opening.
Not sure what you mean CG as if you stick it to the inside of the sliding door wouldn't it slide right back with the door.
The velcro dots are the way to go for holding it there and it needs to be a soft enough material that will fold up small so it doesn't take up too much space. Like the net over the food cloth I have with binding around the edge. Something like that but much bigger would be ideal.
