I am also a member of another forum, which does have a buy and sell section and sorry Cindy it is still a very friendly forum just like this one.

The buy and sell thread on that forum is very popular with members and does not have any effect on thr friendliness of the forum.

So it does not really matter to me because if I want to buy or sell I just go to that particular forum.

I just brought a pair of deflapper bars for half price in as new condition and made a new friend in the process.

So sorry Cindy cannot agree with the rationale

I agree GS, it is annoying to go to another forum to have to sell something that is RV related. and why shouldn't GN members have the opportunity to buy, sell or swap RV related items.  Cindy could put a disclaimer on the thread title saying any such transactions are strictly between the seller and buyer.   Having said that no commercial selling of any kind on this members thread should be entertained (that is selling products for profit etc).

Those GN's who don't want this type of thread have the option of not viewing or using it if they don't agree with it.

I'm all for it.  All RV forums that I know of allow member sales..

Yes, I also belong to another forum (fishing) which has a buy and sell section, and it seems to work very well with members often giving great deals to other members and at times offering freebies that are no longer needed but are too good to throw away. But you would need to stipulate that it is strictly non commercial.

Perhaps Cindy could have a look at the Gumtree site and maybe follow some of their rules, it seems to work for them, but it should be left up to the owner of the site.

What's all the hassle for, either have a buy and sell or don't, as Vic says those that don't like the idea don't have to view or use it.

Now I can see why our Pollies argue so much.

I just thank goodness there are other open minded forums (not trading sites) where as well as chatting with friends (some who are members here) that I can go to and as well as chat, I can peruse the buy, sell swap section.

As others have said here if the ditherers don't like it it is easy, don't open the buy sell swap thread. It is not exactly brain surgery

I think there are enough free sites such as Gum Leaf where this can be done.
Swapping via this site might be acceptable, but I'd be against using it as a venue for selling.
Everyone is free to choose.

Chris. This is your last warning.Turn down your Spotlights. It is illegal to show them in daytime.evileye

Those lights are my "wig wags", only 55Watt.  They used to be 100 Watt. Compulsory in WA and Qld, illegal in NSW.  All these rules keep us on our toes.

I only had them on for publicity purposes.
