Yes I know its been talked about on here before and I have read all the posts.

Now have registered myself and ready to go. Looks like fun. After talking to Robyn and Ted at Greens Lake and watching them head off to seach for and find a couple, it looked like so much fun.

Now my S in L has given me his old Navman so I can enter GPS I just need to buy some trinkets and get out there.

Still busy reading all the instructions and made note of a couple here not too far away. Will start in this area before moving further afield. Anyone else started into this since the last threads?

I find White Elephant stalls at the end of the day are great for picking up bits and pieces. The little things are not sold and you get to take lots. One of my trackables has travelled from Canberra to Uluru and then headed South again and is now in Tasmania.

Great fun and amazing where you find them.

 Hey, we are off to Tassie is a few weeks...It would be great to find it....We are just designing some tags with Tigersden....she is great....Geocaching is turning out to be a lot of fun, although we are newbies...is anyone going to the Mega event in Aubury W, in April?

I've been out and found a few. A new hobby for me which has been a lot of fun. Haven't had much time lately to do anything due to work. I'm on leave for a couple of weeks so hope to pick-up some caches close to home. Its great seeing places so close to home, which I never knew existed and learning quite a bit of history as well. biggrinGetting heaps of exercise as well, which is always a bonus.smile

We have had a lot of fun and interesting experiences with our Geocaching adventures.

Met a terrific "old gentleman" in the central park in Hong Kong whilst looking for a cache.  Talked to him for half an hour.

Must have been amusing and had the locals thinking these Aussies(Europeans) are crazy in Kowloon, clombing a monument at the main Star Ferry terminal looking for a "micro cache."

We find that in our travels, people place the caches in some of the most exciting and unkown places.

AND Dusty, You have well and truly got to enjoy some wonderful places through Geocaching, did you go to those spots because of the cache or where you there and check to see if there were any close caches?

 Hi Sharon,

Before we leave home on any holiday, we check the geocaching web site for possible caches then print off a few off.

Doesn't matter where we are, we try and look for a few.

In China it was fun, catching a taxi or trying to work out which bus or train to take, when everything is in Chinese.

Same in Malaysia. Although English signs are common, but the taxi drivers are hopeless.

We are always amazed at the places people hide stuff?

Even when we just started out and looked for a few around our local area, we discovered places that I am sure few people knew about.

Great hobby.

 Hi Sharon, Thankyou. I've started photographing some of the caches I find.

This one was at the top of a Bunker which I never knew existed. The link gives some of the history. To much to write. I'm hoping to be able to do some caching soon.

That is great JG, seems like you are enjoying it as much as we are.......we have booked for the Albury Wodonga Mega event in April.. we never book for anything so we must be keen on Geocaching

I went to the one in Perth held recently 11/11/11. Brought the event coin. I'll try and get a pick of it for you. I left early to farewell fellow GN members on their trip. Later on I decided to do a few caches on the way home and ran into others from the event doing the same thing. All up a very enjoyable day. Already have ones loaded on the Gps for when I manage to get away in the van.

My daughter was out with some friends doing some night caching. Got pulled up by the police wanting to know what they were up to. Even took her licence and checked her out. Luckily the officer in the car was one of her ex work colleagues who vouched for her.

Sharon - Disco Duck is presently in ROCKWALL near Ulverston . Would be great if you could keep her moving.
