Amazing how it adds up.... I bought a bottle of scotch for the autoelectrician, 6 bottles of spumante and a carton of beer for the backpackers who work for me, a bottle of bourbon for the handyman, a carton of champers for the chalet guests - 1 bottle each for xmas and new years.
I should probably be buying everyone bags of fruit instead.
For myself I will be dipping into the wine collection - am trying to knock it all off before I hit the road.
I do find it staggering that a bottolo can gross $87k in one day. That is obscene.
yes we too bought pressies cost us a hundred and fifty dollars, i must say that since you can no longer claim on xmas parties for your company thanks to the tax man ,we now dont spend half as much as we did.
its a huge bonus for the bottlos though, we went to first choice near joyce mayne in sippy downs it was quite busy .
as they say hope nobody is hitting the road and thinking of drinking and driving .
I don't Ken, or very rarely do. Thought I might make an exception for NYE out at Greens Lake. I'm still trying to get through a bottle of wine from my daughters wedding over 2 years ago, its still 2/3 full.

It actually tastes very nice, very drinkable, had some a couple of nights ago. I only opened it for the first time about a month ago so I suppose that is why its still ok.

I knew it was going to be a quiet Chrismas this year.

Hi
GROSS and NET are two different things please do not distort the facts as for "How many people that would feed" Do people honestly believe that if they did not buy their grog at that particular bottle shop we would all send our individual amounts to the needy for a feed I do not think so,

I can't afford to have alcohol very often, but I did buy 2 bottles of Riccadonna for Xmas/New Year season, and a friend also gave me a ruby riccadonna. It's my favourite so opened it on Xmas Day, but didn't have much, as I was driving. Just as I was leaving, I realized my bottle of ruby was still sitting on the table, not in the fridge and not corked, 2/3rds full! What a waste of good bubbly! I nearly cried!
Re the turkey Dougwe...landlord has been home on hols so has been chasing it. There must have been a nest down the back somewhere though, because when I stepped up onto my porch today, a chick ran off. Sorry, I was too slow with the camera.
Because our fave wine is from Banrock Station, we made a special detour to their winery in SA hoping for some well-priced wines to take with us. Big disappointment. Their cellar-door price was $3 more per bottle than Coles Liquorland.
Dont really drink a lot of wine/beer so its appreciated when we do indulge.
