Caravan or posh hotel?

Have just spent a beautiful Christmas weekend at Thredbo, we stayed in a posh (read expensive) apartment as a special treat, and found we kept saying things like "wish we could sit out under the awning". Are we mad?

Onya Gerty.

We cancelled out on Tassie - too long a story .

But , we gave ourselves a treat anyway -

5 nights in a 5 star in Sydney after th new year .

Then up to Dubbo zoo & Coona - Crystal Kingdom  &

environs , but we won't let th head get to big , it can be a

long fall from 5 star to th gutter . I've seen it too many times .

Ordering our camper trailer soon though .

Why settle for a 5 star venue when you can have the caravan and 5 billion stars??

Even better, our tent had a "sky-roof" and we could look straight up at the stars from bed.... ah! Memories of the Simpson desert, billions of stars all brighter than I'd ever seen before.

That's one of the reasons we bought a Jurgens Lunagazer

It reminds me of comments around the BBQ in the caravan park in Maroochydore last July.
One gentleman had been reading the real estate windows and made the comment that for the same price as his caravan ensuite site he could have rented an apartment.
His next comment was that if they had done that the only person he would have to talk to would have been his wife.
You don't get the friendly chatty neighbours in apartment blocks.

My preference is the van.

For all of the above, plus I know who slept in the beds, dribbled on the pillows, and "excercised"on the sheets (sorry).

I know how clean it all is, cause I clean it. I know the pillows are as I like them, not to heard or too soft, and the mattress won't give me backache in the morning.
