Hello there folks!

I am hoping that those who are camping at Greens Lake would be open to me driving down from Echuca and paying a day visit.

In spite of being close to making my decision, I don't have my ute and slide on camper yet, but would still be interested catching up with fellow Grey Nomads in person.

Have a great New Year's Eve and hopefully I will see you on New Year's Day.

Lyn

Only trouble is, I need to be home at night for my dog who is an epileptic and needs his medication.

I am looking forward to catching up.

 I will see.

It may not be workable to have him with me if I decided to stay in a swag.

Apart from that, I have to be home to make preparations to catch up with my daughter in Melbourne for a couple of days and to take a look at a slide on camper that I am very interested in.

You are making me jealous!!! Son and family have the van at Healesville at the moment. Made tentative plans to cross the Simpson Desert with friends from Alice Springs today. Probably in July. Boy are these feet getting itchy!!!

Hi guys - I wish I could join you, but my dad is doing some 12V work on the van and then in 2 weeks it goes to get some larger renos done.  As soon as I know how long they will be keeping it then I will start making plans.  Maybe a couple of days at Greens might be on the plan.

Hope you all had a great New Year celebration last night and today is a great day with more visitors.

Cheers, Helen

I flew over about 12.30pm today and waved I hope you all waved back, I tried jumping out to meet you all but for some reason the pilot wasn't very happy with that idea, not sure why? Spoilt sport. Have fun all at GL.

I enjoyed catching up with fellow Grey Nomads at Greens Lake today and also taking a look at their various differing "rigs". They are a great bunch of people.

The more I have to do with Grey Nomads, the more I am convinced that there is no standard Grey Nomad personality. Everyone I have met has been distinctly different in most ways, with the only common elements being that they have all been cheerful, helpful, encouraging and interesting. And of course, absolutely enjoying what they are doing and sharing their experiences with others.

I look forward to my first get together with my proposed ute/slide on camper combo.

Thanks again folks.

So glad you could come out Lynnie. Certainly a diverse range of nomads and they are all fun.
They just keep coming, and going from Greens Lake. It is very popular. You can go for a visit, an overnight or a couple of weeks if that takes your fancy.
I would have stayed longer but I HAVE to go to Geelong this week, I have been promising them for nearly 6 months.

We are a happy mob. We had fun meeting & mingling.
I came home yesterday after 16 days on the road. A week working, and the rest of the time touring and meeting up with GN's and others along the way.
Today I had to have a nanna nap in the aircon to catch up my energy. I'm pooped!
I'll be back on the road again soon.

You are more than allowed to have a nanna nap Chrissy, have another tomorrow and the next day, I actually had a poppy nap today. My son in-law up in Townsville is only in his 40's and had a day nap 3 days in a row, I told him "you loung blokes can't hack the pace", poor little fella.

Well I can't nap while I'm driving, so I have some nap catching to do.
It was long days, and a very late night on NYE, after the fireworks and party stuff.

I'm hoping to leave Geelong tomorrow, will call into Greens lake on the way through. If anyone there will stay a night or two.

Waiting on my awning delivery here at my families business address. When it arrives I can pick it up and go. Getting fedup. Paid by paypal on 6th, they went on holiday for a week from the next Monday 9th, now saying Paypal never notified them of the payment. Said they would get it down here ASAP.
That was friday, my invoice still saying pending.

I can't do anything but wait.

Are you still waiting for that awning? Mmm, keep on it. I'm still sure it's the holiday period, but keep hassling by email if possible. They have been very reliable previously, so I reckon it's just the timing.
It will be worth it when it arrives. It's a bit tricky to install, but you'll love it. Be patient girl.

Finally arrived this morning CG. BinL is going to bring it back to the house in his ute sometime today.
Will head home tomorrow as today is supposed to be the hottest day with fire warnings all over Vic. There is warnings against travelling today.
Tomorrow will be a lot cooler with a bit of rain.

That's good news Marj. It's a bit tricky to install, but it's certainly worth it.
Don't drive in the heat and that stinking hot northerly wind is nasty.
We had it in Adelaide today and there was a lot of real estate changing hands (dust) without a dollar being paid.
The change swung around late this arvo and it did try to rain without much success. It's a bit cooler now so that's a relief.
You don't want to stress Myrtle.

Arrived home about an hour ago after shopping in bendigo along the way and calling into Greens lake for a look.
No Nomads there this time, Probably about 6 families doing their thing. very quiet and peaceful.
Could easily have stayed for a night or two but with the awning on the inside instead of the outside there was no room to pull the bed out and I had bought meat at Kangaroo Flat and needed to get it home.
Myrtle went well, very smooth successful trip.
My sister bought a 15 inch Aldi TV for Myrtle for Xmas, how good is that.

I was thrilled Pam.
When I was filling up with fuel at Daylesford this morning the lady in the next car coming out from paying for her fuel, said to me " What a pretty van, I love it" I was so chuffed.
