Could someone please explain how the Atwood hot water system works please. Gas or 240 or both? I have rung a caravan company and he said it was not gas it was 240 but then I read in the books "limited" instructions that say "remote direct spark ignition eliminates the need to light external pilot light". Only gas need a pilot light?? It also says the unit will cycle on and off as long as the unit has a gas supply.
I don't want to run a system which is using my gas if I don't need the hot water. I can boil a kettle if I need to. It was in the van and not my choice. I can see the advantages in a park situation but free camp could be costly and unnecessary.
I can't find much information in the paperwork at all. Would appreciate having it explained.
Thanks
Tess
I don't know the specific workings of the Atwood and haven't seen one in a few years, but all Gas Appliances in the van must have an isolation (Shut off) valve even if the HWS has an inbuilt one. The HWS will also have an isolation switch for the 240V.
Cheers, OJ
