Just go for it! All the best. It's ok to combine nomadding and work. (oops, 4 letter word).
Travelling with work or travelling to work is ok, as long as you're travelling.

Sounds like a plan. Don't work for too long - all those extra months of slog when you are pining to be on the road can take its toll. You never have enough money to set out - it's always a bottomless hole and unforeseen expenses just keep popping up delaying you further, just go for it.

There is work to be picked up on the road especially if you have handyman/person skills or IT skills or hospitality experience, and there is always harvest work. There are some areas of the country where you can pick up work incredibly easily. There's also house sitting or accommodation in exchange for work schemes.

18 months is 6570 days - are you sure you want to wait so long? Just being a stirrer here.... you've obviously done your sums and made your plans..... just don't leave it for too long, life is too short and you never know what will crop up.

Good luck and hope to see you on the road.

Without being disrespectful to your mathematical skills Elle, 6570 days does seem a lot of days for 18 months :)

18 months works out to be 547 days, give or take a day depending upon the number of 28/29/30/31 day months you include. :D

Deb & Gary - good luck with the plan execution guys. Karen and I have been doing the travel then work then travel thing for a while now (since 2007) and it goes OK for us. The biggest down side is that we make friends in places and then have to leave them behind as we move on!

Hey Joe and Karen remember that old tv show The Littlest Hobo with the gorgeous German Sepherd? I can still sing the theme song. He made new friends every episode and then left at the end.

LOVED that show.....and I can't remember the theme song Elle.  You'll have to sing it for me when we meet down the tack.
