good time to go in Feb-May Elle on Wheels,great weather at that time of year. we fly to Launceston each year and stay with b.i.law then we go on day or over-night trips.
Even though i lived there for a lot of years(wife is Tassie)still love going back.

When we were there in Feb/March 08, we thought every Grey Nomad from the mainland was there too, it was so busy. You wont be lonely!!!

Karen and I are booked on the overnight ferry on 9th Feb and planning to stay there for a couple of months.

I positively loathe cold places (yes, it's Karen that wants to go) so we have targeted the warmest months outside of school holidays. Let's hope it warms up by then!

Perhaps I'll see a few of you around - the Troll and the van sport the GN stickers so say hello if you see them!
