Getting to know you

Our little dark grey Trakkadu "Fried Rice" will be on the trail again shortly.Making a short (4/5 weeks) trip to Melbourne to visit our son and his family. They're about to arrive there transferred from Christchurch NZ.We'll probably have just a week or so in Melb, taking a couple of weeks or so to get there and back from Brisbane. Our plan (very loose and subject to change for no reason at any time) is to go via Forster/Tuncurry and return via Canberra with a few days in each of those 2 regions.

We might be seen anywhere within a couple of hundred klms either side of a line drawn generally along that triangular(??) route. Will be delighted by an approach from any contributors to this beaut site.smilesmile

Hi rrox, I havn't seen you here before so a delayed welcome from me. Your trip sounds good and your rig looks good as well, I like the sat dish, could come in handy during the rugby season, it looks like you run it all of solar power on top of your trakkadu?? You are heading into Melbourne and I can't wait to get away from it in April for 6-8 weeks on the road to Townsville (see previous posts) anyway enjoy here and your trip/s. DOUG.

God day Doug, thanks for your response.
We're very pleased with our little VW cabin. Served us well for recent 25K trip around Oz including some fairly rough stuff here and there plus lots of water crossings. Most folk were intrigued to find we two are still talking after 7 months of that confined space!
We bought the dish at Karumba after a deal of frustration in isolated spaces without reception.. it is a boon; we can only play so much rummy etc .

Regards Richard R

Hi Gertie - where in Canberra are you?  I'd love to meet up with someone from this site.  I'm in Ainslie at the moment - parked on my daughter's front lawn.  I'll be here until Feb 1 or 2 except for the long weekend when I'll be in Sydney.
