Was looking through the subforums on this site, in particular the free camping section. Looked thru page 1 then on page 2 saw Girgarre posted by Happy Wanderer. Thought I'd take a peep and there saw that Girgarre, not far from Aysons Reserve and Greens Lake had a small camp and shower and toilets in a free park. Rob and I thought this sounds good so off we went next morning armed with our shower gear. Sure enough in this tiny town was Mens and Ladies Public toilets and showers. All nice and clean and had toilet paper. Oh bliss we could have a real shower!! I mean we only have a shower tent with 12v shower which does work ok but.......to have a real shower - just heavenly.
Thanks Marj, I was wishing there were a couple of shops I could spend a couple of $$ in return for the shower.
I usually look at the General Forum and maybe the hints section and thats my lot. Nearly missed out on something really good.
Hi Val. Funny that as I've never been there. JazzinAround stayed there for a bit before our Nov meet and found it excellent, so I posted the details on here. She's been back there a few times for R&R. The closest shops would have been Stanhope which is about half way between GreensLake and Girgarre, just down from the intersection on the road to Shepparton. Or else Tongala and Kyabram which has an excellent Animal Park and Dump Point also.
