My hubby Alan and I are new to the forum and looking forward to chatting with you all. We live in Flowerdale Vic and hope to set off in March to the western district, Halls Gap and surrounds, maybe even as far as Mt. Gambier. Have a great Australia Day. Bye for now. Brenda
Thank goodness that some of the nicer people got to welcome you here first, you see just about everyone on here are really great people.
HOWEVER, in time you will come across ''Wombat'' most people get scared off when he is their first contact, he is so serious, and does not like people only other wombats
NAH only kidding Wombats a good bloke to, in fact everyone on this site is either TRYING to be a comedian, or offering sound and useful advice and information.
So once again WELCOME and don't be shy ok ? dazren
A very warm welcome to you Brenda and Alan this is a very friendly forum with lots of great people and also lots of expertise and experience. Look forward to hearing more about your plans and travels
Welcome, Brenda and Alan. Halls Gap is a great place to stay - even better in spring with the wildflowers. There are some very pleasant walks, if you like walking. Some good drives, too, though I am not sure which tracks have been reopened after the big fires of a year or two ago. I do know that the Halls Gap to Dunkeld road is open again, and that is a very good way to head south and west. There is an ok caravan park at Hamilton that we have used as a base for a night or two. If you find you have some time to spare and need a sea fix, two excellent places are Beachport in SA and Narrawong in Vic.
Welcome to the Forum. I am a relative newcomer and have found this to be a wonderful web site and forum. Plenty of hints, encouragement, support, cheerfulness, etc can be found here. And it's great to actually meet up with other Grey Nomads even before you hit the road. Lyn
