Lulu's reno

As some of you know, my brother-in-law has been doing a reno on my new/old Nipper. So I thought you might like to see some pics.

Wow, he certainly is. A lot different to the photos when you first bought her. Now I will go back and study them again.

Great job, he's completely stripped it out and started again. You won't know youself when its all finished. I am very envious, you lucky girl.

Yes, I will. There was a single bed where the seating area should have been. So now he's taken it back to proper size, he could fit that little cupboard behind it. And he's raised the bed to allow for the porta loo, and put some ply along the front, where before it was a valance type thing.

He also plugged up a lot of gaps. I would have had dust coming in everywhere, he said.

He's an excellant handyman and he's really more like a big brother to me. I've known him for around 45 years.

He made a new table as the original was very heavy...that's how I squashed my finger months ago...and it was just chipboard anyway.

I thought about a van like your, but had the problem of the barge company on the island where I live charging by the meter. The slide on is the same price as the car as it sits on the back.Looks like a great job. It certainly looks like it has plenty of room.Looking forward to meeting you and other gns.See you soon, Bill.

I also thought about a slide-on Bill, but I already had my beaut car that I didn't want to give up, so had to settle for what suited the car.

He's always doing something with wood, so had a lot of the bits and pieces in his shed already, thank goodness. So far I've only had to buy a sheet of ply,,,from the dump shop for $10,,,and a couple of packs of sealant.

By the way, in his working life he was a scientist. Bit of a switch hey! But he did grow up on a farm.

You are lucky to have a brother in law who is so talented and helpful.  Mine is talented but not helpful.  I am having some work done (bed and table part of it) - but no doubt it will cost me much much more than yours.

Where would we be without the good old Logan dump shop, a friend of mine built a complete teardrop caravan with materials from there (including the paint)

Here's the latest photo's. They are off to NZ for 6 weeks, so he'll work on the outside when they return.

The bedspread's got to go. It's too ugly!

Very neat Beth,  I could live in that if I were on my own.  A nice blue toned bedspread would be the go for me, blue has a calmative effect.
