RE: motorhome vs caravan - solo lady travellers help??

Hi Peacewalker. I am also a new Solo Grey Nomad and have just purchaced a Jayco Conquest to live in full time. I had a HiAce camper before and looked at lots of options but in the end decided that this was going to be my home from here on so why not go for some thing a bit oversized for what I NEED. It's a huge step in life so you want to get it right the first time. Personally I would rather have too much room and not use it all than find out in a few months that I was not happy in it because I didnt have enough room. Budget has a lot to do with it as well I guess but as I am selling my house and buying a new HOME what the hell a house would cost a lot more than a motorhome. Only you can choose for yourself but choose carefully. As far as sightseeing etc I plan to tow a suzi 4WD for the fun stuff.

I like the Hiace because I can drive it as my vehicle, have lots of stuff with me including food, toiletries etc. Shaved my legs in the shopping centre carpark one day. Cheap to run, safe to crawl into the drivers seat if you need to leave quickly.

I have a porta potti but I do miss having a shower inbuilt and space is a problem for me but more advantages at the moment.

I usually carry a folding bicycle and find it helpful to do shopping and see sights.
